Lenora Herrera, 71 a lifelong resident of Espanola, NM, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2019. Lenora was born on September 24, 2019, in Alcalde, NM to Delfino & Teodorita Chacon. On November 29, 1969, she married the love of her life Leeroy J. Herrera of Espanola, NM. Lenora was loved by her family and friends and was a very forgiving person. She was active and loved to travel.
Lenora was preceded in death by her mother & father, Delfino & Teodorita Chacon of Alcalde, NM. Her husband LeeRoy J. Herrera of Espanola, NM; her son, Delbert Herrera of Espanola, NM; her brother, Junior Chacon of Alcalde, NM; her brothers, Peter Chacon and Eddie Chacon of Alcalde, NM.
Lenora is survived by son/daughter in law, LeeRoy Jr & Melissa Herrera of Espanola, NM; brother/sister in law Tony & Marylou Chacon of Servilleta, NM; brother, Johnny Chacon of Alcalde, NM; brother, Raymond Chacon of Alcalde, NM; sister Lorraine Maes of Albuquerque, NM; sister Gregoria Vigil of Chimayo, NM; sister Carol Garcia of Ojo Caliente, NM
Serving the Herrera Family as Pallbearers are her Grandkids; Dylon Herrera, Dylan Herrera, Elliot Herrera, Ethan Herrera, and Ava Herrera.
A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz de la Canada followed by the Rite of Christian Burial at 11 AM followed by burial at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Reception to follow burial at the Knights of Columbus Arroyo Seco, NM. The family would like to thank Del Corazon Hospice and Dr. Kathleen Maley for Lenora's care.

Now I have a chance to share this..tia at the time of ur passing I wrote this in my journal in memory of u❣u were my aunt who always had smiles to brighten everyone's day who encountered with u. U made us feel good with ur warm words of praise. U always knew what to do to make our days better and brighter .although u sleep in heaven know your not that far away..my heart is full of memories. U lived ur life with meaning and a smile upon ur face for everyone,a world of happiness..ppl say that only time will heal a broken heart. My condolences to Lenora's family..We grew up with the Chacon family in the La Villita/Los Luceros area until we moved to Albuquerque. I was thrilled to see the entire family a few years back at a wedding in Albuquerque, less Junior, who had passed. Lenora and I had a long session reminiscing about our days in the Valley..I was very saddened to hear of her passing this week..My heartfelt condolences..- Vince Guillen
