Arthur Eli Vigil, Sr. of Taos age 90 went with our Dear Lord on November 26, 2021. Arthur was born on August 20, 1931 to Jessie J. and Mary Vigil. He joined the United States Army in 1950 - 1952 and continued in the National Guard after leaving the army until 1955. When he left the Army he began his career as a mechanic for Conoco and continued at Pueblo Motors for a period of time and went on to work as a mechanic and welder for Questa Moly Corp. retiring in 1991. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Senaida R. Vigil, daughter Becky Martinez, granddaughter Nicole Vigil, son-in-law Raymond Piper II, his parents Jessie J. & Mary Vigil, in laws Gilbert & Maria Luisa Rivera. Arthur is survived by his children, Gil J. Vigil, Mary Louise Vigil, Jessica Vigil, Cecilia Vaquera, Arthur Vigil, Jr. (Barbara), Angelo Vigil (Annette), Mary Antonice Piper, Mario Obed Vigil (Darlene), Teresa Trujillo (Joseph), Gilbert “Rocky” Vigil, Adam Ferguson (MaryAnn) Grandchildren - Andrea Knepp (Don), Jose Martinez, Daniel Marquez, Melissa Chavez (Michael), Heather Vigil, Pamela Vigil, Juan Abeyta, Matthew Griego (Amy), Jacquelin Vaquera, Alisha Vigil, Aaron Vigil, Deanna Overby, Angelo Vigil, Angelina Mondragon (Joseph), Raymond Piper III (Tori), Angela Piper (Crystal), Manuel Vigil, Timothy Vigil (Victoria), Veronica Doris (Elliott), Natalie Trujillo, Hailey Vigil, Trayfin Vigil, Gilbert Vigil, Sierra Ferguson, Israel Ferguson, great grandchildren, Austin Knepp, Daniel Martinez, Michael Chavez, Donavan Duran, Julianna Costello, Isabella Costello, Kia-Lee Vigil, Jace Abeyta, Braiden Vaquera, Lilliannah Vigil, Izaiah Vigil, Jayden Mondragon, Kaylee Piper, Aaliyah Piper, Jasmine Salazar, Jason Salazar, Aspen Mascarenas, TJ Vigil, Tomas Vigil, Isacc Vigil, Tesla Vigil, Shawney Cantu and Shakai Cantu. Arthur’s is survived by his siblings Cecilia Rael and Marcella Martinez (Sammy) and sister-in-laws Donna Hynes (James), Barbara Rivera, Francis Rivera and comadre Vicky Jaramillo. Arthur was a loving and caring person and considered many of his extended family members as his grandchildren and was recognized as grandpa by Lisa Muniz, Joseph Muniz, Ruby Ann Solis, Marissa Mondragon, Joshua Mondragon, Elijah Mondragon, Nehemiah Mondragon, JovAnna Martinez, Rey Martinez, KyLani Martinez, Josiah Martinez, Ezra Martinez, Eva Martinez, Victor Chavez, Debbie Chavez, Rosie Chavez, Melissa Chavez-Tafoya, Matthew Tafoya, Matthew Chavez, Joshua Chavez, Antonio Tafoya and Michael Tafoya.
A Memorial for Arthur will be held on March 26, 2022 at Rivera’s Chapel at 1:00 PM.
