Dale W Mondragon

Dale W Mondragon

1951 - November 23rd, 2021

Biography

Dale Mondragon left us entirely too soon on the evening of November, 23, 2021, after battling a long illness.   He was born to Frank Mondragon and Ida Mae (Romero) on August 5, 1951, in Denver, Colorado. He was the youngest of four boys.  Dale graduated from Lincoln High School.  Following graduation he served his country as a proud Marine during the Vietnam conflict.  He later obtained his bachelor’s degree through Metropolitan State College.  He went on to work at Rocky Flats, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and also spent time working in Canada.  Because of fond childhood memories with family in the area, he returned over twenty years ago to make his permanent home in his beloved Taos County.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Benjamin.  He is survived by his longtime partner, Cindy Leyba, and their two dogs, Poppi and Frida; his brother Carl, wife Loretta, nephews Sean Mondragon and Dean Mondragon; and his brother Ron, wife Josie, nephew Benjamin Mondragon, nieces Rhonda Hesch and Jamie Davis.  Dale will be deeply missed.  He loved life and lived it to the fullest.  May his spirit continue to touch those who were close to him throughout his lifetime. As per his wishes, he will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado in 2022.

I regret that the life Dale and I shared was cut short...we had plans for so much more. Never will his warmth, humor, generosity, patience, love and understanding be forgotten. I will hold him in my heart always.

Rest In Peace Dale. You were a great addition to our family and Cindy’s perfect partner. I’m only sorry I didn’t make time to hang with you more often, your multi-liquored holiday ‘punch’ was the best and Kelley I always looked forward to seeing you during those times. Know that our thoughts are always with you.

Revelations 22 5.And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Revelations 21 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, for these words are true and faithful.

We will miss you Dale, but we will see you again.

Dale was our neighbor and friend for more than 7 years. He looked after our vacation home when we were not there and was always a welcoming and dear friend when we returned. My husband, John, and I shared with Dale his hopes to overcome his illness and are very saddened that he was not able to get well. We miss him dearly and always will.
