David D. Vigil
Born June 12, 1952, Died Jan 16, 2023
Our Beloved David fought a long battle to stay alive. He died of congestive heart failure. He was a composer and a musician, and artist as well and went on to produce many paintings of Santa Fe and its environment. He had a generous heart. He is survived by Christina, George and Eliza, Virginia, Lucinda and numerous nieces and nephews. He enriched peoples lives with his paintings and music. He had a spontaneous good nature. He was humble and shared his talents freely. Our brother and uncle David will be greatly missed.
Rosary and Mass will be held at Cristo Rey church on 10:30 am, February 1, 2023. Burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery.

David, with you moving on from our beautiful Canyon Road, it feels like the end of an era. No matter what was happening good, bad, or otherwise, seeing you passing by with your rainbow of colors on your bicycle, or hearing about you from a visitor who you may have given one of your lovely paintings to "just because"... you were a vivid part of a vivid community. You touched many hearts! Not just those of your loved ones, but those of strangers as well. I wish there were more like you. Rest in Peace.

David, you will be so missed. Every summer I traveled to Santa Fe for the past 10 years I would always stop in to talk with David. Loved to hear his kind perspective on life, listen to him play the piano and guitar, watch him paint. Your sharing of your great great grandfather (I believe) building the stone wall that was next to Canyon Road. His soul is and will always be so beautiful. We talked about art, grief, history. My gosh he painted a small canvas of flowers for me. I will miss you David as so many people will. I have shared with so many of my clients, your love of art and how you viewed the world, how you talked about the psychological understanding of grief with me before my presentation at the Creativity & Madness Conference. Every client I see, sees your beautiful painting next to the couch and I will continue to share about the beautiful David Vigil that I know. So, I will prepare myself as I stop by your creative work space at the end of July because I know the gravity of your loss will be immense. Im so happy that you met my wife and 2 children December 2021. Love to all of your family. Herb Landis

Dear Christine, Virginia, David, Lucinda, This summer, I had the pleasure to talk with David while I was waiting for a table at your family house, now known as The Tea House. He was very clear on what he thought about life and his part in it. I asked him to play a little bit on the piano and was very gracious to do so. I am so sorry for your loss. Que Dios Lo Tenga en Su Gloria.

My husband Randy and I were neighbors to David when we had our store on canyon road .. he was very dear to us and we are very sad about the loss of our friend. We have many pieces of his art and would love to have more if there are any available.
