Donald R Ortiz a lifelong resident of Nambe passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his father Ramon A Ortiz. He was employed by the Pojoaque Pueblo Supermarket for 31 years. Donald was an extraordinary soul who touched many lives. His contagious laugh and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who had the honor to cross his path. Donald leaves behind his wife Lorraine Ortiz of 29 years. His mother Rose Lovato and Al Lovato his Brother Dennis and Jeanette Ortiz children Jacob, Joshua, Dominik, Johnny, Daniel and Jeniffer. His special Aunts Tia Lena and Sylvia Rivera, his God Daughter Miranda Lujan and God Sons Javier Vigil and Joshua Ortiz. A Family viewing will take place at 5:00PM, and the Rosary will be prayed for Donald on Tuesday 10/29/19 at 6:00PM at The Sacred Heart of Nambe Church, The Mass will be held on Wednesday 10/30/19 at the same location at 10:00AM with Burial to follow at the cemetery in Nambe. Serving the family as pallbearers are Jacob Rivera, Joshua Ortiz, Dominik Ortiz, Johnny Ortiz, Daniel Ortiz and Adrian Ortiz and Honorary Pallbearers are Brian Vigil, Danny Lopez, Ray Sandoval, Albert Sisneros Mike Rivera, Viorica Burdujel, Mario Quintana.

Uncle Donald was friendly, kind, caring, cool, down to earth, most hilarious person I've known. I already miss hearing his jokes or the stories he told. It is with great sadness and tears in our eyes that we say goodbye to Tio Donald. Yet somehow there's a feeling of happiness to be found. A smile to be shared. It's that good feeling you get when you hear a funny joke. Tio Don could tell jokes like no other. When he and my Tia Lorraine would come visit us in Colorado, a great time was always had. I remember so many times being at my grandparents, we'd spend hours laughing and laughing. They would make the best comida for everyone to munch on. These were the very best of times. I will always cherish the memories made, the laughs we shared. Here's a part of a text received from him: " I luv my family no amount of money I'd trade for my family." Facts. Tio Donald was devoted to his wife, family and friends. He loved each one sincerely. The last joke we shared, I told. Here it goes: why does a duck have tail feathers? Answer: to cover his butt-quack. After I told joke, Uncle Don replied "you're getting better!". Now that's inspiration to me. Tell others jokes. Enjoy your family and friends. Live and love.

You were always a great man.. You and Lorrain always asked me to house sit while you were gone.. loved a poster in there.. so much you both found one for me. Donald you loved your wife. Ashe knew it.
