Edwardo Alberto Romero Jr.,67, of Taos, NM passed away unexpectedly January 11th, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwardo A. Romero and Teresa Romero, son, Edwardo A. Romero III, sisters, Cora Romero and Teresa Reyes, in-laws, Teodoro and Tillie Romero, brother-in-laws, Andres “Leroy” Romero, Alfredo Romero, and Ruben J. Romero, sister-in-law, Angela Jones. He is survived by is wife Lisa M. Romero, sons, Tomas T. Romero (Debbie Romero), Jesus M. Romero, daughter, Monica M. Venne (Cory Venne), brothers, Richard Romero (Christine Romero), Jacobo “Nick” Romero (Wanda Romero), sister, Erlinda Romero, grandsons, Edwardo “Pingo” Romero, Calvin Venne, granddaughters, Miquela Sanchez, Kiera Armijo, Ashley Grant, and Raquel “Chiquita” Grant. Edwardo A. Romero Jr. was and will always be a loving husband, father, grand-father, and friend. Edwardo was a strong believer in God and family as well as serving his community. He loved the outdoors, ranching, and spending time with the Blue Knights Brotherhood. Edwardo’s unexpected passing to join our Lord in heaven leaves a void in our hearts, but his legacy will live on through his wife and family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

I was so sorry (and shocked) to hear of Edwards’s passing. It took a bit to let it sink in and it is so very sad. I cannot tell you how much I will miss him. He and I graduated together. He was always a great friend and even treated me as a brother. His compassion and great humor were unparalleled. I thought the world of him. Meeting up with him was always a joy. He will live in my heart for many years to come. He and all of you remain in my prayers. My deepest condolences to you all.

Ed, I will forever treasure your friendship and remember all the fun and crazy times we had when we worked at the Taos County Sheriff’s Office. I will miss you calling me just to check up on me and to make me laugh. I will never forget the time you emptied all the shedders in my office and made a huge mess.
