Elaiza M. Cordova, age 90 passed away in Chimayo, NM surrounded by her loving family on Friday, December 20, 2019.
Mrs. Cordova was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She grew up in Chimayo where her family raised acres of chile, she would hoe, irrigate and help make hundreds of chile ristras. She was a hard worker all her life. She loved to cook, make tortillas, bread and always made sure everybody had something to eat. Mrs. Cordova loved all her family unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her husband Reynaldo F. Cordova, parents Abelino and Faustina Martinez, her siblings Genoveva, Priscilla, Abel, Gerbacio, Cayetano Martinez . Also preceded were her sons Augustine (Aggie) and Peter Cordova. Mrs. Cordova is survived by her children Consuelo Maestas (Eddie), Danny Cordova (Maxine), Bert Cordova (Priscilla), Archie Cordova (companion Virginia), Angelo Cordova (companion Sandi), Isabel Cordova (Lloyd) Geneva Cordova (Victor). Her grandchildren Andrea, Antonio, Glen, Viola, Marty, Adan, Miguel, Jose, Daniel, Andrew, Antoinette, Jonathan, Mathew, Fabian, Tyler-Rey, Kimberly, Christopher, Alexandra and Augustine. Her great grandchildren Kodi, Aiden, Makeyla, Mateo, Diego, Marrissa, AJ, Kailani, Addison, Nate, Neo, Noah, Briana, Jacob, Mia, Hailey, Cecilia and brothers Fidel Martinez (Loyda), Richard Martinez and Eppie Martinez (Rose). Serving the family as pallbearers will be Antonio Maestas, Marty Cordova, Adan Cordova, Jose Cordova, Daniel Cordova, Andrew Cordova, Matthew Cordova, Tyler-Rey Vigil-Cordova, Christopher Martinez and Augustine Calderon. Honorary pallbearers Andrea Maestas and Alexandra Calderon.
The Cordova Family would like to thank the staff from Los Alamos Visiting Nurses especially Dean Martinez for caring for our mother as if she was his own family member.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday December 26, 2019 at 4:00pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, Chimayo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM also at Holy Family Catholic Church, with interment followed at the Dolores Cemetery, Chimayo, NM.

Cordova Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Your beloved mom, grandma and great grandma is now at rest in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. I personally did not know Elaiza but, my thoughts are with the family. I hope you can find comfort where I too have found in the past, 2 Cor. 1:4 “Who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trail with the comfort that we receive from God.”
