Gloria Jane Lourdes Martinez passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. She was born on April 8, 1944 in Sombrillo, but resided in Santo Nino.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Conce and Fidelita (Fay) Vigil; her sister, Mabel Duran; her brothers, Ben Vigil and Ernest Vigil; brothers-in-law, Juan Duran, Fermin Martinez, Phillip Herrera and Martin Martinez; special niece, Beverly Martinez and special cousin Charlotte Gallegos; father-in-law, Cruz Martinez; mother-in-law, Porfiria Martinez and brother-in-law, Gilbert Martinez.
Gloria is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Harold Martinez; her son, Harold A. Martinez. Grandson, Justin Martinez whom she referred to as her “Honey Bunny” and step-daughter, Henrietta Martinez.
Gloria is also survived by her sisters, Corrine Martinez, Donella Herrera, Priscilla Martinez and Yvonne (Mary Lou) Vigil. Sister-in-law, Carmen Vigil. Special niece Michelle Herrera. Brother-in-law, Alfonso Martinez (Ninfa); sisters-in-law, Ramona Johnson, (Wayne), Gloria Plattner (Stan), Amelia Martinez (Louie), and a very special friend, Rosabella Martinez.
Serving as pallbearers will be Amberly Trujillo, Ronnie Martinez, Louie Sandoval, Larry Martinez, James Padilla, Clarence Martinez, Dominic Apodaca, and Mike Duran. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Martinez and Matthew Vigil.
On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, a rosary will be recited at 10:00AM, Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at the Holy Cross-Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church. Interment immediately following at the Holy Cross-Santa Cruz de la Canada Cemetery in El Llano.
The Martinez Family has entrusted Gloria’s care to Rivera Family Funeral Home 305 Calle Salazar Espanola, NM.
