Jerry Martinez, age 55 a lifelong resident of Chimayo passed away on April 22, 2021 of a short illness. Jerry was born on June 4, 1965. He was preceded in death by his son Julian Jerome Martinez, grandson Gabriel Harris, mother Marquita Martinez, brothers Leroy, Escolastico (Caco) and Ricky Martinez, grandparents Esquipula and Teresita Martinez, Proxcedes and Onofre Martinez, nephews Derrick and Anthony Martinez, Sister-in-laws Theresa (Tede) Martinez, Lori Ann Gallegos.
Jerry worked construction, Jerry was caring and was always willing to help anyone in need, especially in the spring cutting weeds, cleaning people’s yard. Jerry will be dearly missed by all his family, friends and loved ones.
Jerry is survived by father Orlando Martinez of Chimayo, daughter Jerranda Harris-Shurtliff (Joe), grandson Nicholas Harris, granddaughter Aviana Shurtliff, mother of his children Phyllis Martinez of Chama, sisters’ Orlinda Martinez (Rocky), Lorraine (Ronald) Martinez, Darlene (Johnny) Trujillo as well as many nephews and nieces and cousins.
Rosary will be prayed on Friday April 30, 2021 at 9:30AM.Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10AM.Holy Family Catholic Church, Chimayo, NM
