Johnny Martinez

Johnny Martinez, 80, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on October 21, 2021, after an extended illness.  He was born in Ojo Caliente, NM, on February 23, 1941.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Marcella Martinez; grandparents Ricardo and Emiteria Valdez; son, James Martinez; sister Maria Luisa Blea and brother-in-law Arthur Blea; cousin, DiAnn Gonzales; great-grandson Santiago Fleming.  Johnny is survived by his wife, Connie Martinez; children (partners) – David (Julie) Martinez, Darlene Martinez, Andrea (Jerome) Martinez, and Adam (Angelica) Martinez; eight grandchildren – Sean and Cameron Martinez, John Eric and Makayla Frietze, Angelo and Carmella Martinez, Juliet and Xavier Martinez; four great-grandchildren – Juan and Francisco Martinez, Carlos and Elijah Fleming; brothers – Ramon (Ramona) Martinez, Manuel Martinez, Cruz Martinez; first cousin JoAnn (Frank) Padilla; and many nieces and nephews.       

Johnny will be dearly missed by his family and long-time friends.  The family would like to thank the staff at Christus St. Vincent’s PCU and Pacifica Memory Care for their gracious support. 

The family of Johnny Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the Rivera Family Funeral Home of Santa Fe.  Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Parish located at 511 Alicia St. Santa Fe, NM 87501. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. following the rosary. Interment to follow rosary at Rosario Cemetery.
