                                     OBITUARY FOR JUANITA A. SENA

 Our loving mother and grandmother, Juanita A. Sena, 82, passed away on March 10, 2023.

A lifelong resident of Chupadero, NM, she was surrounded by her family as she passed into her everlasting life with God our Father.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Barnabe & Rosita Martinez, brothers Merjildo, Estevan and Frank, sisters Teresa, Sister Vianney Martinez and Dolores Trujillo.

She is survived by children Michelle Sena, Angela Becherl (Brian), Jeanette Yardman (Charlie), Michael Sena and Rene Kepler (Randy). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  Sisters Lucy Gonzales, Jessie Lopez, Theresa Gonzales and husband Louis, and sister-in-law Gloria Martinez along with many nieces and nephews.

Juanita was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish.  She was an active member of The Lady’s Alter Society.  She served as a lecturer for many years.  She also taught Catechism to the local neighborhood children. 

Juanita retired from the United States Postal Service after 27 years of service.  After retirement she enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She also spent her time embroidering the many scarves and pillowcases which she shared with family and friends.  She enjoyed growing the many plants and flowers that adorned her home, taking long walks and spending time with her new grandson, Michael Jr. She also enjoyed the special occasions when all her sisters got together to celebrate family birthdays.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Cathedral Basilica followed by funeral mass.

Burial to take place following the mass at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church Cemetery in Rio En Medio.

.  A reception will take place at 12:30 at the Cristo Rey Parish Hall.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Christus St. Vincent Hospital and all the wonderful people at Del Corazon Hospice.  Special love and gratitude to friend, neighbor & caregiver Cordelia Jimenez.  Also special thanks to Angela Suazzo.
