Kathy M. Martinez – 49 and Victoria M. Martinez – 5
of Tucson Arizona passed away together on July 19, 2005 as a result of an accident. They are survived by their loving husband/father Wayne Martinez and loving son/brother David Martinez of Tucson Arizona. In addition to Wayne and David they are survived by; Kathy's brother Ted Manzanares and Family of Espanola, Victoria's Godparents Jay and Kathy Erdei of Virginia; other immediate family members; Abelardo and Anita Martinez of Ojo Caliente, Steve Martinez and Family, Linda Francisco and Family of Espanola, Joseph Martinez, Jimmy Martinez and family of Ojo Caliente, Patrick Sealy and Family of Santa Fe, close friends Ignacio Pena and Family of Tucson Arizona and several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends from New Mexico and Arizona.
Kathy was a loving and caring wife and mother and was a probation officer in Pima County, Tucson Arizona. She enjoyed running, and was chosen to carry the 2002 Winter Olympic torch as it passed thru Arizona. Most of all she enjoyed clothes shopping with daughter Victoria.
Victoria attended Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School and would have started kindergarten this year. Victoria was full of life, loved to dance, sing and shop with her mother. Her most recent favorite food had become "buffalo wings". She enjoyed playing with her brother David most of all.
They were preceded in death by Kathy's mother Lugarda Manzanares; her Uncle T. Jose Manzanares and sister-in-law Vicky Sealy.
A Wake Service for Kathy and Victoria will take place on Thursday July 28th at 7:00 PM at Block-Salazar Mortuary in Espanola. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 29th at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Abiquiu.
