Kim, you were the first one who talked to me in elementary school when I was the awkward child. You didn’t care if I was weird. We became instant friends, and been friends since way beyond high school. From Brownies, to Girl Scouts, we had so much fun. See you again when it’s time. You will be missed and thank you for being friends with the awkward one!

My best friend, Kim Tucker, loved getting the best seats at a concert for favorite entertainers where you can really feel the rush of the experience, driving a huge Hummer or Firebird or motorcycle down the freeway (sometimes while exchanging hand signals), testing and developing jets and aircraft for the Air Force and NASA that could fly faster and better than anything before them, enjoying great Mexican food with friends, sarcastic comments and a huge eyeroll applied liberally to frustrating, annoying, or silly behavior, giggling with friends and family, a good gripe sesh over cocktails, skiing or snowboarding down a mountain at lightening speed after watching Warren Miller movies for inspiration, schooling people in soccer checks, fighting for women's rights and justice in a harsh world, helping others, traveling the world to do cool things with a friend up for adventure (like helicopter rides to glaciers to run a dog sled team or skydiving or whatever shenanigans dreamed up), problem solving and making it happen for the people she supported, comfy t-shirts, soccer shorts and slides in any weather, watching her football teams beat their opponents esp in enemy territory (Aggies and Cowboys fan for life), spending quality time with her awesome parents and cool brother and his sweet family, running/kickboxing/spin class/rollerblading, and so much more... It's been two weeks since Kim left this earth so unexpectedly and honestly, it is hard to imagine she didn't have words with someone upstairs about how it all should have been handled better - I bet she set them straight LOL and wish I could have been there to hear it - she was someone to be reckoned with when she got mad, well spoken, right to the point, and smart as a whip. When you have been best friends for 28 years, you might have had first hand experience what it's like to get lined out (LOL) and count yourself lucky to have a friend that would forgive when you messed up but also, that would say the difficult thing when it needed to be said for your well-being and/or for the sake of the friendship. I know we will see Kim again someday and that she's gone back home to heaven where there is no more pain, suffering and strife, but damn, this world is less without her and it is so difficult and heartbreaking to accept she's gone. I think she'd want all of us to carry on in her name by standing up, speaking out and taking action to correct injustice and ignorance, even when it is not easy, by making our personal health a priority, including spreading awareness of the unique signs of heart attack in women, by living and working with integrity, by having fun adventures - not taking life too seriously since God has a sense of humor, by making time to help those less fortunate, and by encouraging others to reach for the stars. See ya later, Bubba, save me a good seat till I get there

Kim you will be missed. You were my crazy soccer buddy and Aggie friend. I remember all the times we gave coach a hard time and ran around in your maroon Mustang. My heart is heavy but I know you are in a better place watching over your family and beloved Aggies football team.
