Forever in Our Hearts
Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Olivia Maestas went home peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2020. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. The life she had was blessed by a beautiful family that will continue to honor and cherish her memory in years to come.
Olivia was preceded in death by her husband, Juan A. Maestas, sons Leonard Maestas and Paul Maestas, grandsons Max Marcos Martinez and Jason Johnson, great-grandson Ethan Narvaiz, and great-great granddaughter, Denise Cordova. Also preceding Olivia in death is her mother Alejandrina Flores, father Rafael Flores, sisters Millie Midkiff and Phoebe Howard, and brother Amador Flores.
She is survived by daughters Rosie (Gilbert) Saltkield, Atocha Maestas Torres, Dolores Johnson, Sylvia (Andrew) Maestas, and Phyllis (Conrado) Sandoval, sons Danny A. Maestas and Leroy (Sarah) Vialpando, sisters Alejandrina Garcia, Alice Martinez, Rose Carter, and Polly Martinez. Daughter in laws Lydia Maestas and Teresa Maestas. Olivia was also blessed in life with twenty two grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, and sixteen great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Olivia are David Archuleta, Danny Archuleta, Jerry Byers, Jose Moya, Eddie Maestas, Paul Maestas, John Maestas, and Estevan Maestas.
Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 10:00am at The Chapel of the Holy Family at Rivera Family Funeral Home of Espanola located at 305 Calle Salazar. Pastor Gerald Powely of Valley View Methodist Church of Espanola will join the family at 12:00pm for a prayer ceremony, accompanied by soloists Dan and Carol Hughes. Interment will follow at La Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde.

Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt condolences over the passing of Olivia who was our next door neighbor in Tierra Amarilla for many years and than later on became a "comadre" because I (and my mother Manuelita) baptized her daughter Atocha. May she rest in peace.

My condolences on the death of Olivia. May her soul rest in peace. She was a very nice person that I knew for many years. She always had a smile when we met and would call me when she was better. I also got to know her sister Rose and Leonila when we stayed in TA many years ago. My condolences to them too.
