Phyllis Maureen Duran, 60 of Pecos took her last breath on December 30th of 2021 at St. Vincent's Hospital.
The rosary services will be recited on Friday, January 7th at 4pm (visitation starting at 3pm). Her mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 8th at 10am at St Anthony's Catholic Church in Pecos.
Phyllis was a beautiful person inside and out. She would go without, just so others could have. She worked as a secretary at Pecos Elementary School for 25 years. Phyllis would help everyone in need whether it was cooking a beautiful meal, baking a cake, giving a gift, or helping babysit children.
Phyllis preceded in death by her adopted parents Prudencio and Romana Quintana, her mother Elsie Lopez, her brother Adrian Quintana Sr., and her aunt Maxine Martinez.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Steve Duran of 32 years, her daughter Michelle Martinez (George), Natalie, her stepson Albert Duran (Crystal). Her six grandchildren Noah, Brooke, Michael, Malachi, Matthias and Madiah, whom she greatly adored. Her sisters Irma Whittington (Sam), Elaine Varela (Melvin), Brenda Jo Duran (Eddie Roy), Rosie Quintana and Amy DeHerrera (Henry). A host of friends, family members, nephews, nieces, cousins, including Orlando who had a special place in her heart.
Her smile, laugh and generous heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Phyllis was a very unique person, she was beautiful inside and out. I always remember her when I worked with her the way she dressed, I would tell her you look beautiful today let me see your high heels, and sure enough they matched what never outfit she was wearing. I don't know how she found those heels, but they matched her outfit. I will miss you, Phyllis

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my classmate Phyllis. She as the most beautiful in our entire class of 79 . I remember going out in our teens and staying out passed our curfew, her mom Elise would tell her, "Te voy a planchar Phyllis si no llegas pronto" I know you are with your Mom in the place we all call our "Home" Rest in Peace my friend .Anna Armijo-Serrano

I went to school with Phyllis always full of humor and life. Always smiling filled with joy. We can Only imagine what glorious feelings she has now at the side of Jesus our Savior. Steve, Manny and I are so sorry for your loss. Phyllis was always so nice to us every time we saw her. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I always appreciated everything you and Phyllis did for my sister. Was so sad when I heard she had passed. May she Rest In Peace.
