We Love You
Rodolfo A. Sanchez, 98, a resident from Rodarte, NM, passed away peacefully from a short illness surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. He was a loving, respected and caring husband, father, grandfather, relative and friend to so many. He was an Army World War II Veteran and was very proud of it. In 1942, he met and married the love of his life Belen Sanchez. Rodolfo was a very hard worker and always provided for his family. For many years, he worked as a miner. Rodolfo enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working in his garden.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Belen Sanchez, daughters, Norma Sanchez and Julie Valdez and daughter in law, Becky Sanchez. Infant children: Manuel and Joyce Sanchez. His parents, Apolonio and Agripianita Sanchez. Father/Mother in law, Manuel and Fidelia Casaus. Brothers: Jose, File and Francis Sanchez, Sister: Elizaida Sanchez, Grandchildren: Jennifer Vasquez, Jason Chavez, Christopher and Devon Sanchez, Steven and Justin Valdez and Great granddaughter Cassandra Lucero. Brother-in-laws: Frank and Erminio Casaus, Amadeo Trujillo, Sister in law Connie Sanchez and nephew Gene and George Lopez.
Rodolfo is survived by his children: Josephine (Liberato) Gonzales, Jerry (Mary) Sanchez, Charlie Sanchez, Jessie Sanchez (Pita Trujillo), Connie Chacon (George Deherrera) Gilbert Sanchez, Lorraine (George) Vasquez and Carol Sanchez. Son-in-laws: Steve Valdez and Daniel Vigil, Sisters: Emilia (Tranquilino) Lopez and Rose Trujillo. Brother in law: Leo Casaus and Sister in law: Oralia Kelly. He also survived by 30 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 34 great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Rosary will be held at the San Antonio de Padua Church in Peñasco, NM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe , NM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 1:30PM.
Serving as Pallbearers: David Sanchez, Johnny Sanchez, Wayne Valdez, George Vasquez, Joseph Pacheco, James Sanchez, and Nathaniel Sanchez;
Honorary pallbearers: Desiree Lopez, Dylann Sanchez, Matthew Sanchez, Augustine Sanchez, Patrick Deherrera and Kevin Pacheco.
The family of Rodolfo Sanchez have entrusted the care of their loved one to Rivera Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Sanchez. Condolences to all who loved him. There are no words to express how wonderful Mr. Sanchez and His wife Mrs. Sanchez were. They are from a humble generation that is fading and only a few left. Raised to be hard workers respectful kind giving and well mannered and knew that they were Blessed from OUR Mighty GOD
And were so very Thankful for all they had. I will say his family was Blessed to have him so long and in their lives. I also praise God for having met Mr & Mrs. Sanchez they were very good to me.
