Tessie Garcia, 94, resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico went peacefully, into the Lord’s loving arms on February 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family and Blessed Beehive caregivers. Tessie was born on June 12, 1926 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
She had a life well lived. She loved going to bingo and watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Lobo and St. Mikes Basketball. She had an unconditional love for her children & grandchildren and was a loving mother & grandmother and friend to all. She is truly going to be deeply missed and now is in Heaven with family and friends watching over us and cheering us all on.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, parents Nick Herrera and Tonita Herrera Darcy, sisters Dolores Godsey (Lonnie), Gloria Richards (Sylvan), brothers Nick Jr, Joe, Eddie, Ralph (Ninfa), Tony Herrera and grandson Joey DeHerrera.
She is survived by her children Anthony (Kay), Berta DeHerrera (Pete) and Gerard Garcia, grandchildren Joni Wolfswinkel (Shawn), Elijah (Andie) and Jeriah Garcia, great grandchildren Danielle Richardson, Aaliyah, Sarayah and Nikylah DeHerrera, Lucas, Mila Wolfswinkel, Josiah Arallano, Sophie Garcia and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 6:00pm at Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light located at 417 E Rodeo Rd.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
