Everett M. Brooks, 87, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on January 3, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Blanche Brooks, stepdaughters, Elaine Romero (Leroy), Melinda Vasquez, son-in-law Reuben E. Martinez and nephew, Mark Dowling. He is survived by his wife, Loren Brooks, son Dirk Brooks (Donna), sister Geraldine Dowling, brothers Calvin Brooks and J.C. Robinson, stepdaughters, Connie Martinez and Liz Rodriguez, granddaughter he raised, Camille Trujillo (Daniel), 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two on the way, many other relatives and friends. Everett served our country in the U.S. Army, served our state as a New Mexico State Police Officer, and our community as a Park Supervisor. He was a bronco rider, rancher, and a talented drum maker.
