  What is an online memorial?
Online Memorials are digital spaces of remembrance, celebration and commemoration for the deceased. You can create a collaborative memorial, where friends and family can leave tributes, upload photos, like, share, comment, connect, and remember the life of your loved one. Whether you would like to share these memories with the world, or privately with a few close relatives, our online memorial platform is secure, simple and flexible.
  Why should I have an online memorial for a loved one?
We used to commemorate our loved ones by sharing analogue photo books, home videos and memories with each other. Today, almost all of our photos and videos are created and stored digitally, and our family and friends are spread across the country and the world.

Online memorials are the perfect way to store and share memories, while bringing everyone together in a collaborative commemoration. Rather than save the images in a personal cloud storage that only you can see, online memorials let you and your family collect your favorite memories, share stories and give your loved one a dignified legacy for generations to come.
  How does this online memorial program work?
  1. Our staff will create your loved one’s online memorial.
  2. You, or an individual of your choosing, will be sent an email invitation to become the Keeper Administrator of the online memorial. Keeper Administrators can login via our website to edit or add to the online memorial page at any time.
  3. Upload photographs, videos, build your family tree, share memories, and create a beautiful life story.
  4. Share the online memorial via email or social media to invite friends and family members to contribute their most cherished memories.
  What is a Keeper Administrator?
A Keeper is the user that is designated to manage an online memorial. Keeper’s have administrative privileges, meaning they can add, modify or remove any content on their loved one’s online memorial. Our staff will assign you, or an individual of your choosing to become the Keeper of your loved one’s memorial.
  Is there any cost associated to the online memorial?
Our online memorials are offered to our families free of charge.
  Can I write out my legacy and create my memorial pre-need?
Yes, we offer our families the ability to create their memorial page during the pre-need process. Once you meet with one of our councillors, and we create your account, you will be able to write out your own biography, create your family tree, and begin uploading your treasured photos, videos and memories. Your pre-need memorial page will not be published until the time of your service.
  Can I make a memorial private for family & friends?
Keeper Administrators have total control of their loved one's memorial. Memorials can be set to public or private. If you are the Keeper Administrator of an online memorial, learn more about Privacy Settings Here.
  How long do memorials stay online?
Unlike newspaper obituaries which may only last a few days, our online memorials do not expire.

Contributing to a Memorial

  How do I send a Tribute, Condolence or image on a memorial page?
For Guests and Keeper Administrators
When you visit a memorial profile, you can leave a tribute message by simply navigating to the bottom of the profile. You have the option of sending a tribute as a:


  • Guest - Simply leave your name and email address to send your message
  • Keeper member - Sign in to your online memorial account and write your tribute
  • Facebook - Click on the Facebook icon to leave a message. It will not be posted to your Facebook account.

  1. Login to your account & click on Memorials in the top menu bar
  2. Choose the profile you would like to manage
  3. Click on Edit Picture in the profile picture bubble
  4. Scroll down and click Choose a file
  5. Select the desired photo
  6. Drag the box around your picture to crop and adjust size
  7. Click Upload

For Keeper Administrators
  1. Login to your account & click on Memento in the top menu bar
  2. Choose the profile you would like to manage
  3. Navigate to the Memento section of the memorial
  4. Click the +Add & Edit Mementos link near the bottom
  5. Drag & Drop your files or press Add Files to Browse
  6. Click Upload
Tip: You can upload up to 10 photos at a time, and have different privacy settings for each!
How do I upload photos to a memorial?
  Can I upload videos?
At the moment, videos can be featured on a memorial, but not uploaded to our platform directly. The first step to featuring a video on a memorial is to upload it to a video site such as YouTube & Vimeo. Learn how to upload a video here.

  1. Upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo and Copy the video's URL
  2. Login to your account & click on Memorials in the top menu bar
  3. Choose the profile you would like to manage
  4. Navigate to the Memento section of the memorial
  5. Click the +Add & Edit Mementos link near the bottom
  6. Click on the Video tab and paste the URL

  3. Under each family member there is a '+' symbol - this allows you to add a family member
  4. Fill out their information

To customize a background header image:
  1. Once signed in, visit your profile or the memorial profile you manage
  2. Click on Edit Profile
  3. Navigate to Theme
  4. Choose one of our Keeper themes or upload your own image

  1. Login to your account & click on Memorials in the top menu bar
  2. Choose the profile you would like to manage
  3. Click on Edit Profile
  4. Navigate to Theme
  5. Click on the Icon tab
  6. Select the icon you wish to display
  7. Click Save Changes

Allow family and friends to easily access the memorial fund you would like to donations in honour of your loved one to be sent to.
  1. Login to your account & click on Memorials in the top menu bar
  2. Choose the profile you would like to manage
  3. Click on Edit Profile and scroll down to the Memorial section
  4. Under the Memorial heading, you can add the foundation or charity name and Copy & Paste the link for visitors to access

  What is a Keeper Administrator?
A Keeper is the user that is designated to manage an online memorial. Keeper’s have administrative privileges, meaning they can add, modify or remove any content on their loved one’s online memorial. Our staff will assign you, or an individual of your choosing to become the Keeper of your loved one’s memorial.
  How can I become the Keeper Administrator of an existing memorial?
  1. Navigate to the memorial you wish to manage
  2. Click on the Keeper icon
  3. Click Send Keeper Request button
  4. If you already manage another online memorial, Sign in to your account to complete the request.
  5. If you do not manage another online memorial with us, click Free Sign Up and complete the account creation process.
  6. Our staff will receive and review the request. You will receive an email notification once the request has been accepted.
How can I become the Keeper of someone's existing memorial?
  How do I add another Keeper Administrator to my loved one's memorial?
Only Keeper Administrators or our staff can add another family member or friend to help manage a memorial:
  1. Login to your account & click on Memorials in the top menu bar
  2. Choose the profile you would like to manage
  3. Select the Keeper button in their navigation bar
  4. Click Send Email Invitation
  5. They will receive an email with further instructions

For Keeper Administrators
  1. Login to your account & click on Memorials in the top menu bar
  2. Choose the profile you would like to manage
  3. Click Edit Profile
  4. Select the Settings Tab
  5. Under 'Who can see this profile' use the dropdown to select the desired privacy setting.
    • Public: Anyone visiting the Keeper site can view the memorial and send tributes
    • Family:  Only Keeper users in your Family Tree can see the profile when logged in.
    • Myself: Only you can see the memorial when you are logged in.
    • Password Protected: Only individuals you have provided the password to can view and contribute to the page.
    • Private Link: Only individuals you share the special link with can view and contribute to the page. Share the profile using the private link via email, text message or social media.
