Mary Mcintyre

Biographie

Mary Elizabeth Dressel McIntyre 88, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, passed away peacefully at home, on May 13th 2015 in Santa Fe after a long illness. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Clara (Katie) Allsop and Dr. William Kerr Allsop. Always full of energy, spirit, and determination no matter what challenges life presented to her, Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mary was pre-deceased by her first husband, Karl Dressel and by her second husband Robert McIntyre, both of whom loved her very much. Robert and Mary retired to Naples, Florida where they lived for fifteen years, enjoying the beach and sun, before moving to Santa Fe in 1994. In Santa Fe Mary enjoyed being with her family, her two cats, Sugar and Baby, and endlessly reading her books.

She is survived by her two sons, Kim Dressel and wife Valerie Dressel of Santa Fe, Kurt Dressel and wife Caroline Dressel of Tunbridge Wells, England, her step-daughter Judith Lauver and husband David Lauver, of Tuscon, Arizona, her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and her extended family the Mendozas and the Angels of Santa Fe. A heart felt thanks to her caregivers and companions Marg Kellow, Sue Sheridan, Lisa Bransford, long time nurse Rachel Whitney, her Doctor Caroline Kingston and all of the kind team from Compassus Hospice. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. santafeanimalshelter.com
