Adolfo Borrego

Biography


Adolfo Borrego, 94 of El Guique, passed away on December 17, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents Maria Inez and Nerio Borego, his wife Sinforosa Borrego, his father and mother in law Juan and Victoriana Mascarenas. Brothers and sister in laws Rumaltdo and Rita Borrego, Delfino and Clara Borrego. His sister and brother in law Tonita and Nerio Sisneros, and many other relatives too numerous to mention.

He is survived by he daughter, Josephine Borrego. Close cousins Ernesto and Rose Mascarenas from Chamita, and many other relatives too numerous to mention who loved him dearly.

Mr. Borrego was a World War II Veteran, Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was also a farmer who loved to grow chili, corn, squash, melons, watermelon and tomatoes. He also loved his cattle and going to the Carson National Forest where his cattle would graze during the summer. He also enjoyed talking with people, telling them stories and jokes.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, a rosary was recited on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, Ohkay Owingeh. Funeral Mass took place on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, Ohkay Owingeh. Interment followed mass at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
