Albert L. Vigil (Bucky), 65, of Chimayo NM, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning of Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Arturo Vigil of Chimayo, brother Sam Vigil of Chimayo, nieces Lori Vigil of Chimayo, and Yvonne Bustos Calvert of Espanola.
Albert was born July 7, 1956. He was employed as a laborer for Zia in Los Alamos for many years. Albert was very generous and always shared what he had. He had a strong faith and would often visit the Santuario to pray for his family and those who were sick. Albert was very friendly, always smiling, laughing and would make friends everywhere he went. In his younger years he enjoyed cruising in his low rider, once even took it camping and lost his muffler along the way. In his recent years he enjoyed visiting the casinos to try his luck with Linda always by his side. He will be missed by his only son Michael, his companion Linda, all his family, friends and neighbors that would stop to visit him.
He is survived by his only son Michael Vigil of Chimayo who he loved dearly, granddaughter Jade Vigil of Tierra Amarilla, his companion of 20 years, Linda Padilla of Chimayo, sisters Ruby Maes, Helen Bustos (Lawrence) of Espanola, step children Jeannette Montano (Juan), Denise Padilla (Joey) and Audrey Padilla (Ambrose), 8 step grandchildren, the mother of his son, Celina Vigil of Chimayo, several close cousins and nephews and niece. He will be missed dearly.
Pallbearers are: Ambrose Ortiz, Juan Montano, Izaya Clay, Lorenzo Bustos, Jerome Martinez, and David Sandoval. Honorary pallbearers will be his only granddaughter Jade Vigil, step grandson Josiah Montano, his nephews; Gabriel Archuleta, Sammy Vigil Jr., Charles Vigil, and niece Ashley Sandoval.
Rosary will be recited Friday April 1, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola, and the Holy Catholic Mass on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Church in Chimayo. His cremated remains will be buried in a private ceremony by the family at a later date.
