Amos Santos Dean

December 13th, 1954 - December 8th, 2022

Biography

Amos Ruiz-Dean, 67, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on December, 8, 2022.   Amos was born in South San Ysidro, NM ("Gusano") and lived the majority of his life in Santa Fe with great love for his birthplace and hometown.  While in Santa Fe, he helped raise two sons, Mario and Gabriel.  With the births of his grandson Maceo Israel Dean and granddaughter Olivia Grace Dean, came the biggest joy in his life.

Amos was a generous and loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.  To those that knew him, he was always there to lend support in times of need and celebrate with you in times of happiness.   He loved his family and friends, the mountains, cooking, music, hunting,  and his gun collection.  He found his greatest calling in the study and praise of the Lord, and had great faith and love in his heart for God.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Grace Ruiz-Dean, and father; Luis Dean.   He is survived by his children; Mario (Kate) Dean, Gabriel Dean, grandchildren; Maceo and Olivia, and siblings; Leroy, Lester, Glenda, Edwin, Angela, Ruth, and Martin.

Services will be held at Rivera Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 with visitation beginning at 10:30AM.  Burial services will follow at the Rosario Cemetery with a reception at the Santa Fe Woman's Club off of Old Pecos Trail  immediately after.

Amos and all his brothers with the exception of one who is missing in the photo (Leroy). He loved them all very deeply
Ruth and Amos were very close to one another. They would work closely in the kitchen until she asked him to get out of the kitchen. The argument was about the chili. He would always tell her you can't throw me out of my kitchen as he walked away. Amos was very close to his son's Mario and Gabriel and his grandson and granddaughter
He had a great love for animals. His Fur baby's name was Good Girl
Farmer you were a very loving friend. And while he rests we will wait to walk the same journey that he did and be at peace. I can only imagine what my son Tony and
him are doing up there
Thank you to each and every one of you that came to visit
And all the the phone calls.
calls. Thank you for supporting the Dean Family. May his rest from all suffering he endured with dialysis.

Amos was a good friend; he cared about others. He had a deep Faith and strong moral sense. Amos loved cooking, music, reading, socializing, the outdoors - and most of all his family. He was very knowledgeable about many subjects. Many of us will miss him.

Linda Baca published a tribute .

Dearest Dean Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Amos’s passing. I had just spoken to him a few nights before Mario was to fly in from Washington. Amos and I were close friends for over 26 years. He was truly a man of God and loved his family so much. He was especially thrilled when he became a grandfather. When his mother was alive and needed constant care, he brought her to his home and took such wonderful care of her. Now Amos is reunited with his loving parents. Amos was such a generous man and helped many people. He encouraged and prayed for my family and would often come to visit us. We would have some lengthy conversations about Yeshua. As believers in Messiah we know that, “To be absent from the body is to be present with Lord.” I will miss my Amos…..
Gabe and Mario,…May our loving Father console you both during this difficult time. Your dad was so proud of you both and loved you more than you will ever know.
God’s Strength and Grace Be Upon You All.
Shalom,
Linda Baca
