Biography


Ann Elizabeth Mosness, a resident of Sulphur was born September 16, 1942 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Richard & Elizabeth (Plaster) Buchanan. She passed away Monday June 6, 2011 at Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years 8 months and 20 days. She grew up in the Sulphur area, attending school in Hickory before graduating from Sulphur High School. She graduated from OSU with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, recently receiving her 50 year pin. She lived in Oklahoma City before moving to Taos, New Mexico where she lived for 8 years before returning to Sulphur. She had worked as Director of Operations at Taos Community Health Plan in Taos, New Mexico. She had also worked as a Social Worker for DHS, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and Director of Managed Care at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was a member of Sulphur United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father:Lt. Colonel Richard Buchanan, her mother & step-father: Elizabeth & Dr. G.T. Easley.
Her ashes will be spread in France at the memorial near St. Maurice which was established for her father and four other men who were killed there in WWII during the area's liberation. Ann was asked to speak at the 65th anniversary ceremonies 2 years ago in her fathers behalf. She said it was her most memorable experience.

Survivors: daughter & son-in-law: Jill & Ron Cline of Taos, New Mexico, Son: Phillip Mosness of Paris, France, Step-daughters: Kim Mosness of Denver Colorado, and Robin Mosness, of Flagstaff, Arizona, Brothers & Sisters-in-law: David & Debbie Easley of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Mark & Kathye Easley of Seminole, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Dylan, Aaron, & Sydney cline of Taos, New Mexico. a Step-granddaughter: Connor Donovan of Flagstaff, Arizona, neices, nephews, cousins, and life long friends.

Memorial Services were held Saturday June 11, 2011 at Sulphur United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Trobaugh and Rev. Harold Hunt officiating. In lieu of an interment ceremony; family and friends were invited to a remembrance of Ann to celebrate her sense of fun at a dinner Saturday evening to be followed by re-living Ann's favorite things to do growing up in Sulphur, Oklahoma. They celebrated "defying the parents and dragging main".

Memorials may be made to Cross Timbers Hospice - Ardmore OK, Palliative Care at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore, or Camper Scholarship at Sulphur United Methodist Church - Sulphur, OK.
