Atanacio is preceded in death by his parents Amado and Eufemia Romero; brother Sonny Romero; sisters Sobie Chavez, Tillie Chavez, Cristy Romero and Mary Madore; and grandson Kodi Wheeler. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Loretta Romero; children Jim Romero (Luz), Hazel Romero (Ramon), Randy Romero (Trini) and Renee Romero; grandchildren Melissa Romero Smith (Smitty), Iris Romero, Vanessa Romero, Santiago Romero, Andria Duran (Daniel), James Romero, Randy Michael Romero, Francisco Romero (Lila), and Tamara Wheeler (Joel); several great grandchildren; and sister Judy Romero.
A Rosary will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m.

my deepest condolences to Lorretta and family.i will miss the good laughter,the times we were serious,wether talking about politics,work the war, or the weather having a beer or two under his car port. lots of laughter, Tane would always greet me with that cool smile of his, a knockle or slap shake that we always did. and he would always greet me with a " ORA LE VATO". Tane passed away on Ash Wednesday , that day I believe the Lord welcomed him to heaven. thank you God for letting me have had such a great friend. God Bless and thank you. your friend cristobal.

Remembering Atanacio "Tane" Romero
"Tane" was a good friend of mine and to my family. We will cherish the visits with Lorretta and "Tane". We did not get to visit a lot like we wanted because we lived far apart, but over a span of 50 years, when we would meet, it was with open arms and a sincere welcome into their home.
To Loretta, sons and daughters and extended family, our sincere condolences during this hard time. We will miss him dearly.
