Dear Friends and Family of Anthony Hice,
I am very saddened to learn of Anthony's death in September, just shy of his 39th birthday. I am a member of the Albuquerque Friends meeting (Quakers) where Anthony frequently came to receive snacks/clothing/blankets to help him survive while living on the streets. We were somewhat involved in supporting his efforts to securing permanent housing, which turned out to be a very challenging process. I helped him complete one housing application, so can confirm that his birthday was 9/19/1984. I know him to have been a hard worker, one who often & independently helped with cleanup of the grounds around the meeting house. He spoke with great love and respect for his grandmother, Berlinda. Anthony wanted to change the family history by surviving, after the tragic loss of his father and brothers due to substance use. Anthony was valiantly fighting to get his own life on track. Anthony was very proud of his daughter's accomplishments. He was our friend and he is missed. Sarah Malone, Albuquerque Friends Meeting (Quakers)
