First Meeting

I came to work for the Pueblo of Pojoaque July 3, 1995. I
met this elderly woman(she was 81 at the time)Billie "Bob" Wakeman and I was amazed at her energy and enthusiasm for work. We quickly became friends and later very good friends. She remarked early on after I met her how she wanted to turn 100 years old and go up to Espanola MVD department and get her drivers license. She was completely serious. Well she made the 100 years old part(Aug 15, 2014
she turned 100) but unfortunately her failing eye sight kept her from the drivers license. But her attitude and drive were remarkable and she was a survivor but January 19, 2015 finally God took her and it shattered my heart. I will miss that soul and I hope to join her one day and we
can continue our relationship then. I think Billie Bob was
a great teacher and was the kindest person I have ever met.
I loved her deeply and have floundered since her death.

My condolences to Mrs. Wakeman's family and friends. You are saddened at her loss, but know that Jehovah God cares about your sorrow because He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
