My dear Cousins
It was such a shock to me to hear the news of the passing of your dear father. I just thank the Dear Lord that he inspired me to stop in Pecos and visit with him this past summer. He will always be remembered by me as one of the kindest and most gentle person that I ever met.

A Wonderful Memory
I have a wonderful story about my great grandfather...Our Dieto.When I was attending college for my art degree I had an instructor ask us to draw a memory.I instantly thought of a time I had as a child with my Dieto.As I thought about how to bring my memory to paper,I was taken back,the memory was so strong I could feel the cool New Mexico wind and warmth of the sun.I remember being about 5 years old and playing outside in his backyard in Pecos.He asked me to walk with him, over by the garden that he had something for me.I was excited I loved spending time with him outside.He had grown a raseberry bush just for me. It was full of yummy berries.He had a basket and told me "pick as many as you would like."I was pretty slow so I just kept putting them in the palm of my hands.I felt him hug me and rap his hands underneath mine so that I wouldnt drop them,I couldfeelthe warmth of his love and the smell of sweet red rasberries,I felt safe.I quiclky drew my picture while it was fresh in my mind.I later turned it into our gallery showing at school and won first prize for my detailed scetch titled "a wonderful memory".I apperciated all the memories we shared and although Icouldn't|

It's hard to believe you're gone from this earth. I'll miss not seeing you, especially at mass and the basketball games. The short time I spent with you was truly very special to me. Thank you for touching my heart in such a special way. Love you and miss you, Laurie
