Cecilia Gallegos, 78, a resident of Ranchos de Taos passed away on February 23, 2022, surrounded by her daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Dora Gallegos, brothers, Pablo Vigil and Alex Gallegos, sister, Maria Gallegos. She is survived by her daughters, Dora (Rudy) Gallegos and Venita (Nino) Gallegos, her special little love, Amanda Rivera-Guynn, grandsons, Rudy Hernandez Jr. and Jacob Hernandez, nephews, Jerome, Celedon, and Carlos Gallegos, Mark and Ray Vigil, nieces, Paula Vigil and Jenice Gallegos, great nephews and nieces, Andrea, Marcos, Zachary, Marianna, Marissa, Sonya, Cele and Alejandro, great great nephew, Mateo and great great niece Alivia. Cecilia was a Foster Grandparent with the Taos County Ancianos Program for over 10 years. She worked at the UNM kids campus and at Taos International School, where she became Grandma “CC” to many kids, parents and fellow workers. She was a member of the Taos Eagles Club where she served as an Officer and member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She also served as a bartender for many years and became known as “La Cantinera” of the Eagles. Cecilia also became known as “CC” to many in the community. She was a devoted mom who loved her daughters, her PooPoos and family. Cecilia enjoyed cooking, dancing, listening to music, playing softball in her younger years and being around friends and family.
Services Rosary will be recited on Friday March 18, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Rivera Chapel. Funeral mass will be Saturday March 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St Francis Church with burial to follow at the Jesus Nazareno Cemetery.

Please accept my sincere sympathy for your precious mom and grandma. Grandma CC worked with me in my classroom at UNM and was such a hard worker always ready to help in any way. She was funny and loving and also very honest. I considered her a friend and always enjoyed talking with her. May God comfort and console all of you, you were her life and she was so proud of you.
