Cipriano "Cippy" Joe Ortega
Cipriano "Cippy" Joe Ortega, age 84, of Pecos, Glorieta, New Mexico, passed away of natural causes on Sunday August 27, 2023, after a brief stay at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, NM.
Cippy was born to Juan and Petrita (Sandoval) Ortega on September 16, 1938, in La Cueva, Santa Fe County, New Mexico.
Cippy married Maria Angelina "Angie" (Duran) Ortega and raised 6 children together. He began working for The Coca Cola Company and later sought employment with the cities of Los Alamos, New Mexico, San Clemente, California, and Santa Fe, New Mexico where he was a city employee until retirement.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter, these two things were not only a hobby, but his passion.
Cippy is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son David, 2 brothers, Porfirio and Isidro, 2 sisters Loyola Gurule and Mary Roessler, and one grandson, James Ibarra.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Elizabeth "Liz" (Joseph), Carolyn "Carol", Ernesto "Ernie", Donna, and James (Patricia), 12 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Marcy and Teresa, & many nephews and nieces who he was a great influence on and loved as his own.
A special thank you and immense gratitude to niece, Betty Gurule Gobel, for all the effort and love you gave to care and comfort your "Tio" in his last days and final moments.
Thank you to the medical team at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center for all the excellent care you provided.

I'm going to miss all of our phone call Every time that I called you, you'd make me laugh instead of you answering the phone you put the video. Just say you can see me is what you say. You're so funny even now that I think about it yr the greatest tio ever. I'm going to miss all of your jokes you just make me laugh so much
I loved spending time with you And been with you the end And even then you were still joking You have a great sense of humor you always have, and you always will, and you'll always be in our hearts I just keep playing back the The day that you passed And everybody was gone and it was just you me and christina In the room And when they got you ready to take you And the greatest smile from cheek to cheek that you had. At place in my head all the time. No one compare that smile. It was the most beautiful and precious smile ever.

God Almighty, thank you for uncle cippy being in our lives. I was uncle Cippy and Auntie Angies God daughter . They always treated me so special. Thank you God for uncle Cippy being present in my weeing inwhich he took the honor of waliking me down the isle. I loved this couple. I am thankful for you putting them in my life when you did. God almighty you know I loved them both and will never forget them they will always be in my heart.
