Clorinda N. Sanchez was born in Los Brazos, NM on December 24, 1939. She loved her husband, family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.
Clorinda contributed to her communities in many roles: Lifelong member of San Jose Catholic Church; served in the Choir, taught First Communion religion classes, coordinated the refurbishing of the San Jose Rectory, and served in many other parishes where the family lived. She was a sister in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; a Mary Kay Consultant; member of the El Valle Historical Society; member of the Chama Chamber of Commerce; and a board member in the Chama Valley Schools. She especially loved her family heritage and with her husband opened and operated Casa De Martinez Bed and Breakfast, while sharing the history of her great grandparents’ house and the Los Brazos community. She was employed by several financial institutions, including 1st branch, El Pueblo State Bank, Tierra Amarilla, NM.
Clorinda is preceded in death by her father and mother, Jose R. and Manuelita Martinez; maternal grandparents, Francisco and Margarita G. Martinez, paternal grandparents, Emiliano and Adelaida Martinez; brother, Joe A. Martinez, sister-in-law, Cordy Martinez; and grandson, Adam Sanchez.
Survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Medardo Sanchez, Jr.
Children: Victoria (Juan Morales), Medardo (Tamara), Manuel (Barbara), Veronica (Reyes Ulibarri), and Vivian (Ernesto Gomez).
16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Sisters: Sylvia (Delfin Mercure), Margie (Isidro Garcia) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brother in laws, extended family, and friends.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday December 27th, 2023 at 10am at the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, NM with Mass to follow at 11 am. Interment will be Thursday December 28th, 2023 at 11am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Me deepest condolences to all of Clorindas family. Growing up around her was truly a great gift. She was the greatest “ big” sister to us all. Loved her her parents and her children dearly.. I will treasure my memories of her and hold them close to me.
