Darren Cruz Trujillo, age 50 of Ohkay Owingeh passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020 in Espanola, NM. Darren was born on November 6, 1969 in Ranchitos, NM.
Darren lived a very fast life since he was a teenager. He loved fast cars, fast motorcycles and anything with fast wheels. He loved going deer hunting and being a guide for hunters with his friends. Darren earned an auto mechanic’s certificate in Denver, Colorado. He also had a contractor’s license in Albuquerque. He had his own business and was very successful.
Darren’s life was cut short. He had so much to live for, but it was God’s will to take him. He leaves behind a handsome son, Nicholas Trujillo and Nicholas’ lovely wife, Andrea. A handsome grandson, Troy and granddaughter, Mya. He also left behind a grieving mother, Rae Lucero and a brother, Jonathan Trujillo who loved him so very much. Two very special cousins, Yvonne Martinez who was like a sister to him and Paul DeVargas who was like a brother to him also. Aunts and uncles, Juan and Marina Trujillo; Cordy and Horace Martinez- his god parents; Luisa and Ben DeVargas and a close uncle, Jerry Trujillo. Beloved cousins, Gary and Larry Trujillo and Benny DeVargas and a very dear close cousin, Priscilla Edmonds and numerous other cousins and friends who loved him so very much.
Darren will be remembered to his friends and relatives as a loving and caring person. If you knew him, you had a friend for life. He loved to make people laugh with his crazy jokes and contagious laughter.
Rae Lucero, would like to thank the first responders, the paramedics, the nurses and doctors for the special care they gave her son. She also thanks the Rivera Family Funeral Home especially Jim Martinez for their professionalism. Also, want to thank the numerous calls from friends and relatives and for their prayers and condolences. Thank all of you!

He'd walk up and bump me in chest with his shoulder every time I saw him. You knew if was good or bad by his look. Gonna miss those looks and bumps.

What a great friend. He treated me like a brother. I will truly miss him. We had alot of great times with him and his brother. May he rest in peace. So sorry for your loss Jonathan. I knew you both were very close to each other. Ms. Lucero I am so sorry that you lost a son that loved you very much. Jonathan if I can do anything for you please come by or call me, I am here if you need anything. What great times all three of us had. I will miss those times. I will never forget him. Till we meet agian.

We had so many good memories that I can't pick just one. The Sugar Shack holds many of them when we were with various other friends. I wish I had seen you recently but you will always be in my heart.Now you are with your love Keira so I know you're happy! Forever in my heart! RIP my dear sweet Darren!
