Biography


Delia Archuleta, 92, of El Prado passed away on January 18, 2008. She attended school in El Prado where she was raised. She lived and worked in Taos, Santa Fe and San Francisco for 40 years before retiring back to El Prado. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos and the Seculur Franciscains (Alay Order) founded by St. Francis in the 1200 century. She is preceded in death by her mother, Veroniz Archuleta, sisters, Genoveva Archuleta Roybal, 91, Francis Archuleta Montoya 93, brother in law, Claudio Montoya, nephew, Ruben Montoya all of El Prado. She is survived by her nephew, John (Juan) George Roybal and Erica Ann and John Jay Anthony of Albuquerque, nephew, Leroy Montoya (Natalie) and family, Francine (Robert), Desiree, Casandra, Theresa (Donald), Elisaria and Ernest, nephew, Raymond Montoya (Linda) and family, Steven, Matthew, Anthony, Ronnie, nieces, Mary Alice Sandoval (Ramon) and family, Eric, David, Luella, Vanessa of Santa Fe, nephew, Ruben's family, wife, Anita Montoya, Amy, Gary and Melissa all of El Prado.

Rosary was recited on Tuesday, January 22, 2008. Funeral mass was held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Both services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment was held at Sierra Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers were, John G. Roybal, Raymond C. Montoya, Steven Montoya, Anthony Montoya, Johnny Tafoya and Andrew Tafoya. Eulogy was given by Diana Cordova Quintana.

My dearest prima Delia,you will greatly be missed!Thank you for being my grandma Cassie`s prima consentida,you were like her older sister,she enjoyed your company but most of all your delicious cooking.I thank you forall the advice ytou gave me and to honor your father and mother.AS a boy i remeber working for you cutting the grass in the orchard with your lawnmower,and you were so nice to bring me some lemonade to cool me from the hot sun.My grandma always wanted to visit you cause you were her favorite prima!Thank you for your hospitality and kindness they will surely be missed. You reminded me of my grandpa nick always giving us cosejos about life.Welcome to your new home in heaven,were you will never go hungry and tired,I`m sure your mom-Veronice,sisters-Jenny,Francis,dearest prima-Casilda Cordova along with all other family members are rejoicing to haveyou there in paradise.WE will all miss you, when we pass by your house there`ll be a big emptiness but we know your in a better place,we can never lose hope that someday we`ll each other and give a hug and say welcome home!!!My mom Pauline and Diana miss you very much.
