Don and my brother, Larry Wilson, were good friends and I fondly remember Don showing up at our house carrying a guitar or a mandolin. He began carrying a 12-string guitar and we thought we were being entertained by The Limelighters. He was special. When he went into the Marines he stored a .22 cal Marlin pump in my bedroom closet - why I remember that is beyond me. Makes me smile to think about him and Larry wandering the heavens, two minstrels making the old folks laugh and dance.

I took two Wilderness First Responder classes from Don and was impressed by his knowledge, his candor, and his sense of humor, but most of all by his lightning fast responses to real or potential emergencies.
