I bought a computer just to pay my respects to my uncle. I remember when I saw someone sleeping in the bus at Pitas and he tried to run out the back and I blocked the back and uncle mundo hit the guy with a broom.I felt so close to him protecting my pita. I am so sorry for your loss,such a good man that always made my trips to Black Lake so much more fun.Always thought how ironic it was that he knew the old cowboy song that my Dad had made me sing all the years that he was alive. ( and Edmundo ) always made me sing in the wee hours of the am,sitting there on a log,in front of that big fire. Great memories that i will always treasure. When I heard of Edmundo's passing, the first thing I remembered was when I was a kid and he was my bus driver, bus 16, I was the last child to get off the bus, I would go around closing the windows, and picking up any trash that we would leave behind, and when I would start to walk off the bus, Edmundo would stop me and open up is ash tray and tell me to take the marbles that he had collected. To repay him back for being such a generous guy, I used to ask my grandparents for a small bag of pinon that they picked, and I would give it to Edmundo weekly. He will greatly be missed, It just wasnt the same when he stopped driving the buss.

My heart is heavy with the sadness of your loss. My thoughts are with you, and I know God will give you the strength to overcome your greif.
I always looked forward to our July 4th celebrations at Black Lake and still tell stories of our adventures there.
There are so many happy memories we all share, and though sadness has filled our hearts, we can always think back to our happy times and smile.
He was a wonderful man who loved his family and his friends and was always there to lend a hand or just to make you smile. He will be greatly missed, but I know that he is happy to be with all of those who have gone before him. We will see him again one day in our own time when God chooses to call us home.

Prayers and best thoughts to a very loving family. Edmundo was a wonderful person even to us who were stranded on a Saturday night in Taos about 20 years ago. He helped us get the car fixed! May he be at peace and joy with God!

Aunt Aurora and family - My family and I want to extend our deepest sympathies for your beloved husband, father, granfather. I have many great memories of Uncle Mundo and the way he would do many carinoso little things. I remember he introduced me to fried potatoes and mustard! I thought I wouldn't like it, but I loved it! I remember him popping my back with that big bear hug! It felt really good although I was afraid the first time he did that. Anyway, I am consoled to know he is in heaven with my mom, Granpanito, Pita, Margaret, Aunt Frances, Uncle Jr., and Uncle Leo. He has joined them and is at last pain free. God's blessings and care will help you through this - I know! Love, Aggie

Aunt Aurora & all the family;
We are so very sorry for your loss. I know the deep sorrow you all feel and the empty/hollow feeling that is within you.
It's difficult to say too much because I know that they are just words. However, I do want to share with you that the love and faith in God is what will bring you a little peace. That little peace does grow throughout the days, weeks, months, and years. The empty feeling stays but the peace is there (strangely enough).
It's funny, but earlier on the day Uncle Mundo died, I was at a workshop and we needed to write a poem with another colleague concerning "We are from..." I was telling my partner about a memory that included Uncle Mundo when we were all much younger and when we got a little out of hand he would get the whip and tell us to behave. I remember we would settle down, however I also remembered he never used that whip (at least not when I was around). His bark was much louder than his bite. He had such a big heart. I'm glad I was able to stop in to see him, even if it was only for a short visit, before he left rehab to go home. That wonderful little grin he always had was still there even though he was uncomfortable and anxious.
