On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, Edward R. Casados of Llaves, NM. passed away at the age of 70 after a short battle with cancer.
Edward was born to Pablo S. Casados Jr. and Helen P. Maestas on September 23, 1953 in Henderson, Nevada. Preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul.
Edward graduated from Coronado High School in 1972. Immediately after graduation, Edward worked with several oilfield drilling companies to help with the needs of his parents and siblings. He also worked as an electrician and was a jack of all trades.
Edward prepared his days hauling and splitting wood for the long cold winters in Llaves, keeping the Family Home warm and toasty. Edward always cooked his favorite meal “Frijoles”. He stated “a day without frijoles is a day without sunshine”. Ed enjoyed the “Ranch Life”, he enjoyed keeping the branding irons hot and the beer cold!
He is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Josie Gonzales (Richard) of Bloomfield, Jeffrey Casados (Nancy) of Aztec, Joe Casados and Vandora Casados of Llaves. Edward is also survived by Caregiver-Nephew Diego Casados, numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the Schmidt Family.
He especially enjoyed the great outdoors with his camping buddies in Mud Springs riding the side by sides, of which they will serve as his Honorary Pallbearers.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Gallina, NM with a meal to follow at the Reception Hall. Internment will take place at a later time where his urn will be buried between his parents.
Edward will be missed by his Family and all his acquaintances. The Casados Family would like to “Thank Everyone” for their love and support. Rest in Peace.

My condolences to my second cousins of Pablo Casados children. I am the son of Joe Lopez of Watrous, first cousin to Pablo. I know I haven't kept up with all of you, but remember all the visits to Los Ojos with my Dad. May Eddie rest in peace, and the family find comfort and solace by keeping him close to your hearts and in your memory. Godspeed Eddie.
