Edward Henry O’Brien Sr. of Santa Fe, originally of Hingham, Massachusetts, died February 13, 2024.

Edward (known affectionately as Papa) moved to Santa Fe in 2015, from Hingham, Massachusetts where he lived for many years.

Edward loved attending baseball games of all his grandsons, working on his baseball card collection, and watching Turner Classic movies. He was an avid gardener, growing vegetables and flowers every summer. Edward retired from The Home Depot prior to his move to Santa Fe. He also worked for the Quincy, Massachusetts newspaper The Patriot Ledger after many years working in the banking industry.

Devoted husband of the late Mary F. O’Brien, loving father of Susan, and Edward Jr. and Amy. Cherished brother of the late Marlene Scribner of Melrose, Massachusetts. Also survived by his beloved grandsons Lucas, Thomas, and Christopher as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 20th, at The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, 131 Cathedral Place, Santa Fe at 10:00 AM.
