Eleanor Irene Prada

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Eleanor Irene Prada, a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, was called home by God.

Eleanor was born on May 10, 1965, in Santa Fe, NM to Eloy and Lupe Garcia. As a young girl, she was taught to ride and care for horses which she continued into adulthood. She had a big heart loving all animals and cared for any that crossed her path. Eleanor was also a wonderful mother that loved her children more than anything. She instilled in her children a strong work ethic which she displayed as they were growing up. Eleanor loved to knit, embroider and sow. She was also a fantastic cook and made the best stuffed sopapillas. She had a great sense of humor and a charismatic charm that drew people to her.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her mother, Lupe Garcia, aunts, Nellie Montoya and Elena Gallegos, grandmother, Manuelita Montoya and grandfathers Agapito Montoya and Manuel Garcia. Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Dr. Victoria E. Gutierrez and Elaine Prada, son in law Joseph E. Gutierrez, father, Eloy Garcia, sister, Susie Martinez, brother, Eloy Garcia, several nieces and nephews, sister and brother in laws and cousins.
