Biography


Emilia L. Gallegos, 83, of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully September 10, 2021.  She was born October 7, 1937, in Ojo Caliente, NM to Fulgencia and Celestino Lucero.  Her parents have preceded her in death along with her husband Isidoro Gallegos.  She retired from St. Vincent Hospital Pediatrics Unit and Kid Care.


She is survived by her three children: Margaret Rodriguez (Daniel), Lawrence Gallegos, Miguel Gallegos (Laura).  Her grandchildren: Joseph Nieto (Alyssa) Matthew Nieto (Monique), David Rodriguez, Peter Rodriguez, Kevin Gallegos (Annie), Nicolas Gallegos, Vanessa Garcia, Danielle Garcia, Adam Gallegos and Joshua Gallegos.  Great grandchildren Ty, and Teke Nieto, Augustine and Jayde Nieto, Adam Noah, Elijah, Anthony, Nevyn, David Jaedin, and Lola Rodriquez and Kristen Gallegos.


She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Alvie Lucero, Susie Gallegos, Marina Trujillo (Juan) and Tila Velarde, and many nieces and nephews.


Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated right after rosary at 11:00 am.


Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on October 19, 2021 at 9:45 a.m.


Pallbearers include Adam Gallegos, Joshua Gallegos, Ty Nieto, Teke Nieto, Augustine Nieto, Adam Noah Rodriguez and Nevyn Rodriguez.


Her family expresses special thanks to ALL the staff at Bee Hive Homes of Santa Fe and Ambercare Hospice.  Special thanks to Father Sanchez & Father Brito.
