Estevan Gallegos

Estevan Ponchito Gallegos Jr. 69, a resident of Hernandez, NM passed away on March 11, 2014. He was born in October of 1944, to Amelia and Estevan Gallegos Sr.

He is preceded in death by his father Estevan Gallegos Sr., his mother Amelia Gallegos, father in law Charlie Abeyta Sr., mother in law Florida Abeyta, sister Josephine Lopez, brothers in law Charlie Abeyta Jr., Mike Abeyta, George Lopez and niece Missy Martinez.

He is survived by Polly Gallegos, his wife of 40 years. Son Ricky Gallegos (Trinnie), daughter Crystal Gallegos of Hernandez, NM, son's Moses Gallegos (Amada), Toby Gallegos (Angelica), of Monte Vista, CO. Brothers Ben Trujillo (Inez) of Albuquerque, NM and Leroy Gallegos of Hernandez, NM, sisters Lucy Martinez (Bert) of Chimayo, NM, Stella Gallegos, of Hernandez, NM. Granddaughters Riquelle, Brittney, Floralynn Gallegos, grandsons, Jared, Moses Jr., Christopher Gallegos, 2 great, great grandsons and 2 great great granddaughters. Brothers in law Rudy Abeyta (Alice), Ivan Abeyta (Sylvia), Joe and Leroy Abeyta. Sisters in law Eva Varela (Lorenzo), Nora Marrufo (Manuel), Lorraine Archuleta (Roy), Loyola Sena (Rick), Eida Ulibarri, (Tony) and Vivian Vega.

Estevan was a retired truck driver, who enjoyed fishing and hunting during his early years. Later in life his children and grandchildren became his pride and joys. Estevan, was a very lovable and respectable person who welcomed anyone with open arms.

Honorary pallbearers will be his Godchildren, Jonathan Abeyta, Valerie Romero, Charles Marrufo, Julie Castaneda.

A public visitation and wake was held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Rivera Family Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.

A devotional service took place on Friday, March 14, 2014 at The United Methodist Church in Espanola, NM. Interment will take place at a later date.
