Frank Gonzales, 96, of Questa, New Mexico passed To his eternal home after a brief illness with his family at his side. He is preceded in death by his parents and other beloved family members. He is survived by his children, Ben Gonzales (Sally), Mary Anne Gonzales-Romero (Ernest), JoAnn Gonzales (Patrick), Mary Jean Gonzales, Mark Gonzales (Rena), and the mother of his children, Ruth Gonzales. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren along with other family members and friends.
A private family funeral is being held with interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Frank Gonzales. I cherish my memories working with him on Questa Mine's hoisting systems for the underground mine. I can close my eyes now and see him doing the pre-shift test runs for the hoists. As a hoistman he performed a critical occupation at the mine. All of us that worked underground depended on the hoistmen for safe transport in and out the mine. It was my honor to know him and work with him.
