Hillis Garlick

Hillis Reid Morris Garlick, 88, of Taos passed away on June 30, 2011. She graduated from Vassar with the Class of 1944/1945. She was a writer and painter and most of all a wonderful and devoted mother. She was the daughter of George Maurice and Miriam Hubbard Morris of Washington DC. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. William Lynnewood Garlick of Baltimore, Maryland. She is survived by her children, Dr. William Garlick Jr. (Isa Cheren), Hilece Rose (Michael Walsh), Lynn Garlick, and John Falls (Lia) and by her beloved grandchildren, James Garlick (Lenka), Sarah Surret (Jim), Jennifer and Lillian Garlick, Christopher Rose, Aaron Garlick, Solomon and Mountain Falls. She is also survived by her twin brother, Hugh Ross Morris and her sister, Patricia Young.

Memorial service was held on July 08, 2011 at St. James Episcopal Church.
