IDA LINDER
We lost a treasure today. Ida Linder passed away at the age of 102 years old on July 19th. Ida was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in the year 1910. She was the last of her eight siblings to pass. Her childhood in New York revolved heavily around her family. They were her main friends. One day, she looked out the window she saw this red haired boy driving a sports car real fast by her house, she smiled. A little while later at the age of 18, she married Carl Linder. She adored him, with his red hair and operatic voice. They had three children, Michael, David and Barbara. Ida loved being a housewife who prided in her cleaning, culinary and maternal skills. She was also very good at giving wise advice to her loved ones. When Carl unexpectedly died of a heart attack, Michael, her son promised to take care of his mother. In 1968, he married Rita Raphael and the three of them lived together in upstate New York. Soon after, Julia and Carl were born. Growing up we were always together as a family. We moved to California were Ida helped work in the family Jewelry store and was always there for us. In 1990, we moved to Santa Fe and Ida moved as well. Ida was an avid reader of books and the newspaper, the New York Times and the Santa Fe, New Mexican. However her family was what brought her so much joy. She loved all of her children, Michael and Rita Linder, Barbara and Charles Marcus and David and Barbara Linder as well as her grandchildren, Bruce and Debbie Marcus, Julius and Pam Marcus, Becky and Kelly Marcus, Robin Linder Stacy Williams Evan and Amy Linder, Carl and Robin Linder and Lance Bell and Julia Linder Bell. She also was so proud of her great grandchildren. Jacqueline Bell, Hannah and Zoe Linder, Zachary Marcus, Devan and Noah Linder, Jessica and Josh Williams, Aj. Voto and Erin, Daniel, Austin and Madeline Marcus and Brendan. She will be missed everyday and remembered in every moment.
