James C. Martinez

James Clotario Martinez, 50 of El Llano passed away on June 21, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his father Jose Clotario Martinez, mother Orlinda Martinez, maternal grandparents Felix and Apolonia Espinoza, paternal grandparents Fidel and Adelina Martinez, and nieces Claudette Martinez and Anna Ortiz. James was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. James loved nature and being in the mountains. He always loved to be around people and enjoyed educating others about his culture & traditions. James knew the bible from cover to cover and would often share his knowledge with others.

James is survived by his companion Jenifer Sisneros of Santa Clara Pueblo and by his children: Jamie Martinez, Jesus Martinez and companion Maria (Lupe) Carmona, and Armando Martinez. James is also survived by the mother of his children, Yolanda Martinez, and three grandchildren dear to his heart: Josiah (BooBoo) Martinez, Serenity Faith Duran, and step granddaughter Shayenne Sunshine Naranjo. He is survived by his sisters, Annette Gonzales and husband Antonio of Rio Chama; Sharon Dunsworth and husband Robert of Arizona, Pamela Chavez and companion Alvin Flowers of El Llano, and his brother Joseph Martinez of Rio Chama. James also left behind many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation and evening service were held on June 27, 2013. A memorial service was held on June 28, 2013. All services were held at The Rock Christian Fellowship. Burial followed at the Santa Cruz Cemetery.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers: Josefita Chavez, Lorenzo Humphrey Aragon, Felipe Hipe Aragon, Mark Chavez, Cathy Maestas, and Debbie Lopez. Serving as pallbearers: Joshua Chavez, Clarence Chavez, Kevin Martinez, Bradley Martinez, Kenny Moya, and Rick Aragon.
