Dear Olivia,
We have never had the opportunity to meet, but I have heard many great things about Doug from my daughter-in-law Kristi and from Me-Maw as well. I know this will be a difficult time for you and the family, but please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you and the entire family. He will be sorely missed by all of those who loved him. May God bless you and keep you in his loving thoughts.

Dearest Great Uncle Doug,
I'm sorry we didn't get to meet in person, but I know that you are looking down on us, and that you have seen me now. My mommy will be sure to tell me what a wonderful person you were and the hearts you touched during your lifetime. You meant alot to my mommy and me. Keep watching over us, and I'll keep looking to the clouds for you.

He was the best uncle a girl could ask for. He meant as much to me as a father. I will always remember him carrying me on his shoulders at the balloon festival as a little girl. I will love him forever.

Mrs. Powell, I wanted to again express my deepest sympathy. I didn't have the honor of meeting Mr. Powell but I did get the honor of meeting you. I have know Doug and Olivia for 34 years. The list of men I know that I consider "the good guys" is very short but Doug was definitely on it. He was, is and always will be one of my favorite men.

Olivia, I am so sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful friend and co-worker and I am proud to have known him. I can still remember the numerous times walking the UNM campus with him making sales calls. He had more friends than any other person I know. Our prayers are with you and your family.
