John Hosenfeld

Biography


John Hosenfeld, 65, of Santa Fe passed away on May 5, 2011. He was born on October 8, 1945 in Rochester, NY to Louise and Lawrence Hosenfeld. John married Sharon Davis on June 14, 1969 in Wichita Falls, TX.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Louise Hosenfeld and father, Lawrence Hosenfeld, both of Webster, NY. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hosenfeld of Santa Fe, NM, son, Brian Hosenfeld and daughter-in-law Katherine Hosenfeld of Blue Springs, MO, daughter, Karin Hosenfeld and son-in-law Carlos Mariosa, granddaughter, Victoria Mariosa and grandson, Alessandro Mariosa all of Plano, TX, brother, Donald Hosenfeld of Ontario, NY and brother, Gary Hosenfeld of Penfield, NY.

John attended Saint John Fisher College in Rochester, NY from 1964 to 1968 where he received his Bachelors Degree. He became a Research Chemist at the Southwest and Midwest Research Institutes and served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1973. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and served as Chairman in the Santa Fe New Mexico Tea Party.

A viewing was held on May 9, 2011 at The Rivera Family of Santa Fe Funeral Options Chapel. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on May 10, 2011 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis. Interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Brian Hosenfeld, Jerrie Davis, Steven Davis, Patrick Davis, Timothy Davis, and Orlando Baca.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Habitat for Humanity.
