I may have never got to know you but somehow I feel like i always have known you. I was born on your day, Im into graffiti just like you were I also want to be a rapper just like you. I have heard so many stories, so many memories from our family. I looked through all of these letters and you had a huge impact on all these people. Whenever im in Taos I always try to visit you. I like to learn things about you and I have found many things. Last time i was there I found a suitcase. I opened it and I found a notebook with graffiti letters on the cover and dozens of lyrics and drawings. I know it sounds like i found an old notebook but no when I looked through it I had chills because I have a notebook exactly like yours, graffiti cover, tons of lyrics, doodles and drawing. I was stunned. I showed your Mom (My Grandma) and your Sister (My Tia) and they were having a great time looking through it keeping your memory alive. I have heard some of your songs but its been a long time hopefully I can hear some soon. I just recently released my first song and I wish I could show you. I feel like I have a connection with you. Even though I've never met you. It feels like whenever im recording, whenever im writing, whenever I draw it feels your with me. When I found that notebook it was like we were one and the same. Im 14 now im about to go to highschool. You should be so proud of Danda she is 22 I believe and is moving to Colorado with a great dude soon you would be so happy and proud of her because she has turned into a great wonderful amazing person (and a great cousin). Please guide me and our family and watch over us in heaven. Watch over my dad please be his guardian angel because he needs one right now. Watch over your sister and your mama and your little girl. What can I say except that you have left us very heartbroken. I just want you to know that you were very special to me and that I was VERY PROUD to have you as my brother in law. It was about a year ago I was sitting in back of your mom and daughter at mass, I could barely pick up my head. Tears were rolling down my face. Your daughter is the cutest she looks just like you! Looking at her I wanted to tell her how much her dad would be proud of her, very polite and respectful! But some how I could not find the strength, tears rolling down my face I finally had to walk out.
I can remember you in the youth corp. van talking about how proud you were of her and how incredible she looked in the fiesta parade. Every time I see her she gets so much bigger but each time I look at her I can see a part of you.
You touched many lives. Filled hearts with laughter. And to the select few placed twinkles in their eyes.
To Jon’s parents I am deeply sorry for your loss. Lupita, you had an incredible son and when I see you and Miranda together you both have a love in your eye’s, the kind Jon did every time he talked about you two.

I know who you are from Jon but was never formally introduced to you until I started working at the Spa. I wanted to tell you so much how sorry I was for your loss, but I thought the gesture was inappropriate because of the time that had passed since Jon’s death… I found it hard at times to look into your eyes but was always interested in what you had to say. Sitting in the break room listening to you I couldn’t help but think of all the times Jon mentioned your name.
The story my tears tell:……hanging out with you, school, work. You were an awesome person. Touching the lives of many. I always found it ironic how you always cracked jokes about your smoking habits but looked up to your brother Dave as motivation for your life. I can only remember how happy you were the summer my daughter Mariel and you worked with Rocky Mountain Youth Corp. working up in the mountains. You had so much fun. You loved the lunches I made for Mariel and she would share them with you, finelly I started making you a sandwitch too. You would come to our house and really make us laugh. We would tease you and call you Jon #2, and you would say "I'm not Jon #2, I'm Jon #1"! And you were Jon #1.That was a real fun and carefree summer for you kids. I was honored to have know you. Jon,You remembered me when we had a class together and that was the only time I ever spent with you. You're gone now and I'm the one who will have to remember. We never really got to know each other and I wish we could have. I remember your huge smile when you talked about your little girl, you really really loved her and she will know that in her life from the stories she will hear about you. I also remember how you could make anyone in class laugh. From the time I did spend with you I would have never thought you would take your own life. I don't think anyone did and thats why we are in so much shock. I guess this proves we never truely understand why and how people hurt and heal.
