Joseph F. Miller was born on August 22, 1930 in Canton, Ohio. He passed away on January 4, 2021 in his beautiful home and ranch in Lamy, New Mexico.
What a man, with so many attributes, a husband, father, adorned and respected grandfather, a staunch pro-life supporter who shed many tears. A true rancher who raised many cattle in his life, veteran of the US Army, developer of numerous projects in the Eldorado, Lamy vicinities. If you did not like him, there was still a sense of respect for his unending efforts. Joe loved life with the respect and dignity of what a man is supposed to be. Joe believed fully in the ten commandments especially “Honor thy mother and thy father”. Let us respect these precious commandments.
Joe had many accomplishments in his life including the many development projects that he completed. He was an architect at heart with the ability to build homes and work to provide new homeowners the ability to achieve their goal of homeownership.
Joe married the love of his life Alma M. Miller in 1955 in Canton, Ohio, where they raised their family before venturing to Santa Fe New Mexico to pursue his ranching and land development desires. Joe is proceeded in death by his wife of 58 years Alma M. Miller, his brothers William Miller, and Robert Miller, his grandson Joe Davis, and many other relatives. Joe is survived by his beloved daughter Kathy A. Miller who stood by his side until his final breath. His three sons Matt, Chris and Jeff, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to J.R of Best Way Home Health Care staff of Edith, Luisa, Jamie, Gina, Arlette, Raina and others for their heart felt love while caring to Joe’s personal and medical needs. To the Hospice staff for their care. It is awesome to see how much love you had for Joe.
Funeral services will be held on Monday January 11th, 2021 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 9a.m. with burial to follow at the Miller Family Cemetery located on his Lamy Ranch after the services. Due to COVID-19 concerns, all necessary precautions will be adhered to.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Right to Life organization.

I am so sad to here of his passing. I respected him and we had many conversations about his Developments Around Eldirado. I had Crazy Horse Pizza in the Country Store and even went to court with Joe once as a witness on his behalf. He was a good and fought hard for what was right. God bless your soul.

Bill and I are so sorry to hear about Joe's passing. From the first time I met him in 1997 he was so sweet and kind to me. I think Joe and the family contributed a lot of really good things in the Eldorado area and we are much appreciative. I'm sorry that due to Covid we will not be able to attend his service as Joe deserves our respect. Our thoughts and prayers to the family hoping that good memories will bring comfort.

I would like to give my condolences on the loss of your loved one. Although I did not know him, it is clear that he left a Christian mark in your family and in this world. Among the other wonderful things I read about him, it's really wonderful to read that he was a strong Prolife supporter and stood up for precious unborn children. May he rest in peace. May Our Lord comfort all of you during this difficult time.

My brother seven years older than I. He had to tag me along sometimes when he was with his buddies or he had to stay home and baby sit me. He and his buddies made fireworks in the back yard. When we were older, we hunted together. I will dearly miss him.
