Our daddy, Juan Arturo Duran Jr. (90) was called home by our heavenly father on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.  Dad was born on December 9, 1931 in Bulleros, NM to the late Juan Albino Duran Sr. and Juanita Lucero. He grew up in La Cañada Bonita in Ocate, NM, and for the past twenty five years resided in Pecos, NM.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Gloria Garcia Duran and nine children;  Maria Gomez, Diana Garcia (Bernie), Floyd Duran (Pauline), Eddie Roy Duran (Brenda Jo), Rosie Quintana (late Adrian Quintana), Raymond Duran (Brenda), Jessie Duran, Christine Duran (Ernest), Richard Duran, eighteen grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

Our Dad loved our lord Jesus Christ which was reflected on how he lived his life.  He  was an amazing, wonderful, and giving person.   Dad always had a smile on his face and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  He worked for 75 plus years as a logger and truck driver.  His work ethic was amazing, always ready to give his children the best.  Dad will live forever in our hearts, and we thank God for blessing us with the best Dad ever.

A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Pecos, NM,  followed by a Mass of Christian Burial  at 11:30 AM.  Dad will be laid to rest at St. Anthony’s Cemetery immediately following the mass.

Barbara Lujan published a tribute .

My deepest sympathy to the Duran family. I would always see your Dad and Mom in mass on Sundays. They reminded me of my parents always together. This would always bring a smile to my face. May you find comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain. His journey on earth is complete and he now lives in his eternal home. May he Rest In Peace.
