Lance Edward David Lackas

Lance Edward David Lackas, 60, of Los Alamos, NM, passed away on November 21, 2023. He was born on June 28, 1963, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Shirley and Duane Lackas.

Lance was a great son, husband, father, and friend to many. He was always doing something either at home or for his friends and neighbors. He loved being outside, whether it was doing yardwork or golfing with his buddies. Lance had a strong work ethic and took pride in everything he did.Lance is survived by his parents, Shirley and Duane Lackas; his wife, Claudia Lackas; his sons, Barry Lackas and Jaecob Lackas; his daughter, Charlene Lackas; his brother, Kirk Lackas; his sisters, Dawn Lackas, Valarie Blakemore, Beth Schobel, Carrie Lackas, Tara Lackas, and Audrey Lackas Schoem. He was preceded in death by his son, Lenley (Nick) Salazar.Lance attended Parkway North High School in St. Louis, MO. After his education, he served in the Navy and was a proud member of the military community.In his professional life, Lance was the owner of Flanders Flooring in East Lyme, CT, and also worked at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos County.Lance worshipped at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. In his free time, Lance enjoyed playing golf and working on his yard.Services for Lance will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church located at 3700 Canyon Road, Los Alamos, NM 87544 on Saturday December 9, 2023. A viewing will begin at 9:30 followed by Rosary and Mass. Contributions in his memory can be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or U.S. Veterans.Rivera Family Funeral Home in Los Alamos, NM, is assisting the family with arrangements, and encourages friends and family to leave stories, pictures, and condolences here for the family to cherish.
